1 Timothy 4:8 (NIV) "For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come."

After much preparation, the church finally launched the much awaited fourth anniversary celebration dubbed Four D' Boys Basketball Challenge. In the past three years, the anniversary themes has been designed to serve and encourage different groups like women in "Girl Usap Tayo" ,parents -"Good Enough Parenting" and the youth /young at heart "Christian Music Live!".This year, the group wanted to focus on the men and came up with the basketball challenge since many men are avid basketball fans.

Brothers and sisters from different churches together with the Lucena disciples gathered at the Cuesta Verde court at around 6 AM to set up the place, have breakfast and take the Holy Communion.Kuya Rolly's message was a continuation of the "Ambassadors" series of lessons.Different committees were set up to facilitate the program. There were about 45 guests that turned up to play in the different basketball challenges.

Our Special Guest Kerwin Mc Coy is a brother from Olongapo Church. He is holding a head coaching position in one of the top collegiate schools in the country and involved with the Olongapo City Government's sports development programs. He delivered the inspirational message about his changed life and how God is in control whatever happens-from being a promising PBL player to having to give up his dreams of ever making it big due to his ACL injury. He shared what he was like being a teenager, loving basketball and making it his "life".Many must have been able to relate to his testimony to their surprise. Kerwin together with his wife Mayee and eldest daughter Kelsey graced the event. We are grateful to them.

The games included 3-on-3 challenge which according to some of the participants, is said to be the first in Lucena. Another exciting game was the Half-court Dare in which 3 winners brought home 1000 Php each. There was also the Relay Game and the 3-point-shoot-out Game where many players signed up and tried to beat each others scores.About 16 winners brought home cash, medals and SM Gift Certificates courtesy of generous sponsors.

We are always encouraged because brothers and sisters from different places are willing to support us knowing that we are still small.Big Thank you goes out to our guests, participants and sponsors.May God bless you all.To God be all the glory!

Unboxing the Eye of Horus Eye love it Glamourbox

L

Just got my very own Eye of Horus curated Glamourbox! It came with all that was listed, nothing was missing. It was a relief. There's the facial bamboo mitt, the special sharpener, the Ankh necklace - I can't still figure out what I'd wear with it.I think I had to make adjustments to its length : )

...and the reason why I bought it:

1. Mascara - My favorite one. It wasn't really sting free as I hoped it would. It stung a little bit and made my right eye red. Maybe I really have sensitive eyes.

2.Teal Malachite Goddess Pencil - Glides like a dream.I can't say it is completely smudge free given the weather in the Philippines! but it stays the whole sunny and humid afternoon.

Photobooks from Photobook Philippines

Preserving memories in cute 6x6 40-page mini square soft cover photo books.

I downloaded their software and made my own photobook.I also used one of their templates which can be downloaded from their website http://www.photobookphilippines.com/. I think it's easy because I made like 6 of them!

I got vouchers for these from Ensogo and Metrodeals. Shipping fee was 150 Php through snail mail.We were also asked by the local post office to pay additional 100Php.But now shipping is 300Php through courier DHL.The delivery guy had a hard time finding our address because he cannot leave his van,I think.I even had to send customer service a sketch of our place. The good thing is, I was visiting my mom in Caloocan so I was able to schedule the delivery while I was there.

June double celebration

I had an awesome time on our 5th anniversary celebration in Manila.First off,I visited my mom's home and cleaned the bookshelves and cabinets. It was too sad to depart with some of the books that was ravaged by the termites.I tried to cut out some typesets that I can get inspiration from in my hand lettering.I also cut out some old pictures and illustrations.

Of course, planning ahead had saved me a lot of money.I had bought vouchers for our accommodations and sight seeing.I didn't expect that we'd go to SM MOA because I wasn't so familiar with the place.Had I known it,I would have gotten a voucher for our dinner too!...next time.

Hand lettering

I started drawing when I was in elementary school, maybe even before that.I used to copy the Strawberry shortcake characters in my pajamas. From then on I got a steady supply of pencil colors, crayons, water colors and colored pens from my father who's working abroad that time.I just learned on my own.I never had art classes,I don't think I'm that talented. The only formal training I had with design was during the drafting classes in college.

I took up drawing again because I saw my old paint brush set,old cards I made and my sketch book- while cleaning mom's house.
It is therapeutic for me.It really helps me take my mind off my daily routines. It is also taking what I have learned from my reading,to another level.Sometimes,I can come up with designs I can associate with the verse quickly, sometimes,it takes me days to develop one.

Tayabas,Quezon:Bukal na Mainit -Hotspring 2015

CHURCH OUTING May 17 Bukal na Mainit- Hotspring, Mauban

We had our annual church outing at Mainit Hotspring in Mauban Quezon. We went there early so we can find a good spot- near a grill, near toilets and showers and the pool.We also enjoyed the pool all to ourselves. The pool near our cottage is shallow so it wasn't very hot. There were a number of pools. The oldest one and the pool near that are the hottest of them all. Most old people go there. There is also a small steam bath where you can sit not more than 30 minutes. At around 10 AM ,people started coming in large groups. It wasn't a special holiday morning but there were so many people, almost all the cottages were occupied. It was a big hit "sa tag-init"!

Majayjay,Laguna:Taytay Falls 2015

Majayjay Labor Day

finding our spot

so coooold

under the falls

we just have to take this picture!

During Labor Day holiday families and friends flock different places to grill, swim, play the guitar and do other recreational activities. This year,we decided to go back to Taytay Falls in Majayjay,Laguna. It is not too far from our place and it fits everyone's budget.Last year,I didn't see any souvenir stores, concrete stores nor eateries, but now there are a few of them near the entrance. The vegetable vendors are still there, selling sweet potatoes and vegetables.Coffee is also sold there because you would want to have a sip after a dip in the nearly frigid waters.Wow! I was so cold but I'm glad that I was able to stay in the water for about 30 minutes, before I could just stay for 5 minutes and had to change right away.I think it had something to do with my new mineral supplement -Quantumin plus (http://www.quantuminplus.com.ph/)

Again, Kuya Ato drove us there. He's actually our go to driver for nearby trips, even house moving and he was also the one who helped us move our glass cabinet in our printing shop.
