Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life.
it's been 12 days since my sweetheart popped up a ring to ask me to marry him, and i am so happy about it.we're now in our planning the wedding stage and though it's tough on the budget, we try to be cheerful and enjoy every minute of our engagement time together until the day when we can bring glory to God by being one.

2 Cor.11:28-29
28Besides everything else, I face daily the pressure of my concern for all the churches. 29Who is weak, and I do not feel weak? Who is led into sin, and I do not inwardly burn?
going back a few more verses starting v16, the title of this passage is "Paul boasts about his sufferings"
boyfriend preached the word tonight at the devo and this is what my notes look like:
point 1:"who are weak?"
referencing v20 (20In fact, you even put up with anyone who enslaves you or exploits you or takes advantage of you or pushes himself forward or slaps you in the face. 21To my shame I admit that we were too weak for that!)
- the people were too weak to react
- Paul wants to warn, prepare and to strengthen them in this letter
- he attended to their spiritual needs after meeting their felt needs
thought questions:
1. what concerns do we have in the ministry?region?sector?church?
- though Paul have many issues, he considered the needs of the body as a whole
- we cannot isolate ourselves, everyone is important!
references: 1 Pet 2:9,1 Cor 12:26
2. who is weak?
when was the last time you sat down to counsel?
what's the next step?
do you know someone who has overcome the same situation?
have you get together with that person?
-Paul enumerated what he'd gone through,he never gave up helping the churches, let's imitate his heart!
point 2: who is made to stumble and do not inwardly burn?
(the effect of sin to others and what we can do about it)
- Paul felt the needs of other disciples
- looking back ,what was our initial reaction towards the weak disciple?
- how would Jesus respond to that? he would have challenged and encouraged him!
- since we are imitating Jesus, who loved those who crucified him and forsook him, let's do the same to the weak, who might turn their backs on us as well ,but let's try to restore them back to Jesus.
let's not waste this great opportunity to attend to, not just the felt needs of the families who suffered in the calamity, but also their spiritual needs.

tiring but fun Sunday
After our Sunday Service at the UP Lagoon, we went to Marikina to help out in the cleaning but since my body clock is used to sleeping in the afternoon,I was easily tired.I'm glad that me and bf can do things like that together.
We went to the movies after that, ( I took a shower first of course because it's me and my boyfriend's date)and i thought I'm gonna doze off in the cinema. We watched G-Force,it's so adorable and funny, I hate the roaches they were big in the 3D glasses ,yuck.I enjoyed it I should say.

Hello,
Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone—especially to those in the family of faith. Galatians 6:10

Typhoon Ondoy leaves 80% of Manila under water
Koko Enrile, lead evangelist of the Metro Manila Christian Church, describes the typhoon disaster and how you can help: 7 missing, many still on their roofs, no power, and one pair of disciples saved 50 lives pulling neighbors out of the floodwaters!
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
I am quite sure that you have heard of the tragedy which has befallen our city, Metro Manila. Yesterday, non-stop rains brought about by Typhoon Ondoy flooded the city and practically paralyzed transport, government services and causing untold suffering, severe losses to property and also loss of life. The floods caused was the worst ever in 40 years. Experts say that the Typhoon dumped some 332 mms of rain eqivalent to a whole months downpour in just eight hours!
Many videos are in the internet showing homes being swept away, cars tossed around as raging floods swirl around helpless people. Several disciples homes have been damaged and losses have been heavy. As I write, many disciples are still on top of their roofs waiting out this deluge. Some are still missing as communications have been patchy until now. I know of one disciple whose home was swept away and others whose businesses lost much due to damages. Our Hope sites have been evacuated and hopefully with no injuries. But the facilities have suffered heavy damage too.
In this light, please continue to pray that we will be able to locate our missing brothers and sisters (at least 7 are missing to date) and that no harm comes to them. Many are short of food and water but cannot be reached because of the water current. Vehicles that have been submerged are now leaking gasoline and oil, prompting authorities to shut down electrical supply to prevent a potential conflagration.
As the storm abates, your brothers and sisters in Manila will start sifting through their homes to begin rebuilding again and they will need your help.
I write to you in tears and wish to appeal for all of you to support a calamity fund for your brothers and sisters here in Manila who have been severely affected by this storm. I pray that you can pass on your contributions to the following Churches (Phoenix Valley Church of Christ, San Diego Church of Christ, Greater Albuquerque Church of Christ, the Metro LA region of LAICC, Denver Church of Christ, Oahu Church of Christ) as they would know how to send this to our central administration. (Click on Church Locator at the top of every page of DisciplesToday.org)
We wish to build up this fund through the coming weeks so we can meet the needs of the disciples here. Meantime, we will keep you posted on developments and may the Lord bless all of our efforts! In behalf of all the your brothers and sisters in Metro Manila, thank you for your prayers and your help.
God bless you all!
Love,
Koko Enrile

Dear brothers & sisters in the QC Sector,
We have brothers & sisters and their families who are in desperate need of food. I would like to encourage everyone to bring canned goods tomorrow morning to Jeric's home in Cubao. If you can also stay and help in the distribution of food packages, please be there before 10 am. Let us all work together to help our brothers & sisters in need.

Like I'm Dying
just listened to this over the web...
Live Like We’re Dying
By Kris Allen (Radio Rip - Z100 World Premiere)
Sometime we fall down and can’t get back up
We’re hiding behind skin that’s too tough
How come we don’t say I love you enough
Till it’s too late, it’s not too late
Our hearts are hungry for a food that won’t come
We could make a feast from these crumbs
And we’re all staring down the barrel of a gun
So if your life flashed before you, what would you wish you would’ve done
Yeah… gotta start
Looking at the hand of the time we’ve been given here
This is all we got and we gotta start thinkin’ it
Every second counts on a clock that’s tickin
Gotta live like we’re dying
We only got 86 400 seconds in a day
To turn it all around or throw it all away
We gotta tell ‘em that we love ‘em while we got the chance to say,
Gotta live like we’re dying
Well if you plane fell out of the skies
Who would you call with your last goodbyes
Should be so careful who we live out of our lives
So when we long for absolution, there’ll be no one on the line
Yeah… we gotta start lookin’ at the hand of the time we’ve been given here
This all we got and we gotta start thinkin it
Every second count on a clock that’s tickin
Gotta live like we’re dying
We only got 86 400 seconds in a day
to turn it all around or throw it all away
We gotta tell ‘em that we love ‘em while we got the chance to say,
Gotta live like we’re dying
Like we’re dying oh…
Like we’re dying
Like we’re dying oh…
Like we’re dying
We only got 86 400 seconds in a day
to turn it all around or throw it all away
We gotta tell ‘em that we love ‘em while we got the chance to say,
Gotta live like we’re dying
You never know a good thing until it’s gone
you never see a crash until its head on
All these people right when we’re dead wrong,
You never know a good thing till it’s gone
Yeah… we gotta start lookin’ at the hand of the time we’ve been given here
this all we got and we gotta start thinkin it
Every second count on a clock that’s tickin

Reading habits
i remember back then when it was raining and the classes will be suspended,i would look for a book to read from my collection of books i found in the booksale.it includes some classics, spy, adventure, animals etc.when i became a Christian, the bulk of books i read are on the spiritual, inspirational and self helps.now, i want to read again and try to catch up...
this is from a book meme in facebook,i don't have a facebook account as i won't have time to tinker with it.I find this list interesting.this refers to a list of 100 books that BBC created. It says that most people will have only read 6 of the 100 books here.

Tonight's devotional was about Maturity...
in the areas of :
-patience
-faith
-love
-giving
-depth in the Bible etc.
It has been so toxic for me for the past 6 months since I have been transferred here, and sadly a lot of negative thoughts, response and a lot of bad things got stored up in my heart that I lost sight of God.I forgot that the things I'm going through were just part of the ultimate design, knowing that all the days ordained for me were written in the book before one of them came to be.
I have to unload these bad things that got stored up:envy, hatred, impatience, anger, bitterness, pride, materialism and self reliance.
With God's help, I hope that it will not also take 6 months or more for me to learn again childlikeness and purity.

rainy day date and movie time
Yesterday we had an awesome date at the UP grounds...it rained again on our picnic date so we had to find another spot. good thing we were allowed to spread our mats at the Quezon Hall :) hahaha. We had a little chat then off to the movies.after several months, we were able to watch a movie!we watched Wolverine. It has subtle intimate scenes but still really violent. Can't be watched by kids.I like the fight scenes of the half brothers and Deadpool on top of the cooling tower.really nice...\m/

cookie baking time!
to make our dates more memorable and fun, we had a cookie night date, with Gold and Nestor. It was fun and i was never able to share the recipe with Jesse nor Gold until that date. I started making home made no-oven cookies to give to Jesse to encourage him when we were still not steady dating.Me and Gold have a secret ingredient.

Charity...
my job is charity work...i have to work long hours and get nothing much so it's charity...this is the kind your not gonna feel fulfilled coz your not entirely doing it to help others but you want to get money out of it.
i just hope i'll have other options...
anyway, MV Doulos will be back. Maybe given the chance and sponsorship, i'd like to work there too.that will surely be a fulfilling type of charity work.
