the pix I got when I googled for WALL-E
I am so much delighted when I get to see this movie with my boyfriend at Glorietta last Holiday Monday with 6 other friends, what a date movie huh... It's so adorable.Towards the end when WALL-E got so short-circuited and EVE had to replace his chips, he lost his memory and I thought he will no longer remember EVE but he did ...I got a trickle of tear hu hu. I love it , I love it mainly because its mushy like me and my bf : )and also because of its social message - I think it touches on environmental problems like waste disposal problems and global warming perhaps.

Mahalaga ang Iyong Reputasyon
I just want to share again the message this morning to Metro Manila Christian Church ,UP Bahay ng Alumni delivered by Kuya George. Though I wish I could do this every week.
These are the notes I jot down based from what I heard, it was spoken mainly in Tagalog but when I'm writing, I translate it to English because some sentences are shorter when translated:
Scripture: 1 Thes 4:9-12
#1 Ang Halimbawa ng Pagmamahalan ng Magkakapatid
1 Thes 4:9-10
9Now about brotherly love we do not need to write to you, for you yourselves have been taught by God to love each other. 10And in fact, you do love all the brothers throughout Macedonia. Yet we urge you, brothers, to do so more and more.
- brotherly love is taught by God
- all of us were born of the same water and spirit
- brotherly love is for everyone
- love everybody, no reservations, no qualifications
cf John 13:34-35
34"A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. 35By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another."
*God teaches us to love by putting us in a situation where we have to love our brothers/sisters
-Kuya George cited an anecdote of how he became bestfriends with a brother he thought he would never be close with
Question: Meron ba tayong nararamdaman na di kanais nais sa ating kapatiran? Meron ba tayong iniiwasan sa kapatiran?
#2 Ang Tawag sa Balanseng Pamumuhay
1 Thes 4:9-11
11Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business and to work with your hands, just as we told you,...
a. lead a quiet life
- peaceful
b. mind your own business
- do not invade other's privacy in a sense that we are dictating them what to do
- judging others depending on how they treat us
- if our happiness depends on what others do, we are not minding our own business
c. work with your hands
- tugon sa problem ng kawalang hanap-buhay
- do not be lazy
cf 2 Thessalonians 3:10
For even when we were with you, we gave you this rule: "If a man will not work, he shall not eat."
#3 Ang Kaibahan ng ating Magagawa
1 Thes 4:9-12
12so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders and so that you will not be dependent on anybody.
- what we do can make a difference.
- our christianity should be evident
I learned another insight to this scripture. The practicals are also helpful.Amen

Living Lives of Widespread and Lasting Impact
Just want to share my notes from last Sunday's worship service in UP Bahay ng Alumni.A while ago, the congregation got a little distracted with the group laughing so hard at nearby Chocolate Kiss, and add to that a problem with the audio but the message still moved us, I'm certain.
Andre Publico preached the word of God and we read the following passages from the Bible
1 Thessalonians 1:4-10 (New International Version)
These are the points of his message to us last Sunday Aug. 9
1. Be convinced of God's election of His Saints
Deuteronomy 7:7-8
7 The LORD did not set his affection on you and choose you because you were more numerous than other peoples, for you were the fewest of all peoples. 8 But it was because the LORD loved you and kept the oath he swore to your forefathers that he brought you out with a mighty hand and redeemed you from the land of slavery, from the power of Pharaoh king of Egypt
- He chose you because he loves you
- Go'd election of His saints should lead us to have assurance, to work hard to bring glory and honor to Him
2. Understand God's transformation
1 Thessalonians 1:5-9
5because our gospel came to you not simply with words, but also with power, with the Holy Spirit and with deep conviction. You know how we lived among you for your sake. 6You became imitators of us and of the Lord; in spite of severe suffering, you welcomed the message with the joy given by the Holy Spirit. 7And so you became a model to all the believers in Macedonia and Achaia. 8The Lord's message rang out from you not only in Macedonia and Achaia—your faith in God has become known everywhere. Therefore we do not need to say anything about it, 9for they themselves report what kind of reception you gave us. They tell how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God...
3. We must live out the purpose of our conversion
1 Corinthians 9:19
Though I am free and belong to no man, I make myself a slave to everyone, to win as many as possible.
- waiting for the Lord means watchfulness, not giving in and being ready
- win as many as possible to Christ
Part II
This is the notes i was able to jot down for today's Sunday service:
now i was not able to get the first part of Andre's points because i need to attend to some errands in our group as the message begins after the collection of the contribution given by the generous members and visitors of the church all these were taken into account carefully. So the following are my notes from today's message:
1. (i forgot to ask for the title of this first point)
2 Corinthians 11:24-29
-Paul basically says there's no safe place but he never stopped
-times of testing purifies our hearts and motives
-if our motivation is to please God we will never quit (our faith in God)
-we should never stop doing the work of God until we die
-we should continue to study the Bible, disciple people, evangelize
2. Keep on Loving
1 Thessalonians 2:6-9
6We were not looking for praise from men, not from you or anyone else.
As apostles of Christ we could have been a burden to you, 7but we were gentle among you, like a mother caring for her little children. 8We loved you so much that we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well, because you had become so dear to us. 9Surely you remember, brothers, our toil and hardship; we worked night and day in order not to be a burden to anyone while we preached the gospel of God to you.
Romans 1:8
8First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you, because your faith is being reported all over the world.
1 Corinthians 1:4
4I always thank God for you because of his grace given you in Christ Jesus.
2 Corinthians 2:4
4For I wrote you out of great distress and anguish of heart and with many tears, not to grieve you but to let you know the depth of my love for you.
-Paul kept loving the brothers/sisters
1 Thessalonians 5:18
18give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.
- What are you grateful to God for?
-a grateful heart have great impact.
im glad i can post this : )

Serene Soul Shop
Marissa and I had our D-time here at Soul Shop just a few hours ago. Food is pricy but i think that's because you pay for the ambiance which is worth it and you get to stay at the prayer room as well. This is one of my favorite places to hang out another one is Chocolate Kiss then pray at the Academic Oval, a lot of my prayers have been answered there and that includes my dating relationship whoaaa so it's my number one place to be.

WHO IS GOD?
Excerpt from John Lusk's message Last Sunday Jul 13, 08
Just a few notes i have taken down from the lesson our brother discussed on our Evangelistic Service
Who is God?
Our view of God defines how we live our lives
-some try everything to be wealthy, have several titles after their names, go to the gym to be more fit and strong etc.
but God says in Jer. 9:23-24
23 This is what the LORD says: "Let not the wise man boast of his wisdom or the strong man boast of his strength or the rich man boast of his riches,
24 but let him who boasts boast about this: that he understands and knows me, that I am the LORD, who exercises kindness, justice and righteousness on earth, for in these I delight," declares the LORD.
-our purpose is to know God
-there are ways to know God:
*nature - when were one with nature we are amazed about how beautiful it is and think "i'm close to God'"...
*conscience/reason
*through His people - the fellowship
*through His words - the Bible, we simply don't put it on display, it should be read.
Who Is God?
1. God is light
1 John 1.5
5This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all.
John 8:12
12When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."
The Bible says God is light. John Lusk compared this to a light house. It serves as a guiding light for people that might be caught up in a storm in the seas or probably lost out there, a guide to safe harbors.
3. God is fire
Heb 12:28-29
28Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, 29for our "God is a consuming fire".
Deut 4:23
23 Be careful not to forget the covenant of the LORD your God that he made with you; do not make for yourselves an idol in the form of anything the LORD your God has forbidden. 24 For the LORD your God is a consuming fire, a jealous God.
God is serious, a jealous God. Anything that is put before God is consumed by Him.It maybe an immoral relationship, impurity, lust the list goes on.
God is not to be triffled with. Do not play games with God. We have to take a stand for Him, pushing ourselves to worshipping Him acceptably not just by trusting tradition over God's words, just having comfortable commitment, just reading the Bible a few times. We need to be serious. Don't go to a church that will make you feel just comfortable, push yourself to worship God acceptably.Amen

Like this, God is our guide because as it is:
Isaiah 60:2
See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the LORD rises upon you and his glory appears over you.
we are covered with the darkness of deceit, guilt etc
so, let us pursue the light,
walk in the light, imitate the light and point others to the light.
2. God is love
1 John 4:16
16And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him.
1 Cor 13:4-8
4Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
8Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.
-now, substitute "love" with God in the passage and you'll see that God is patient,God is kind...
